Chat with Young Designer Leo

We sat down with our Young Designer Award winner Leo to talk about his Classic Cube design.
Tell us a bit about yourself!
I live in South West London, I like basketball and I have a dog called Buddy. I’m quite creative and enjoy drawing and sketching.
What inspired you to create your design?
My main inspiration came from wanting to use a lot of colours. I went for a rainbow look different from the normal two colours found in Monkey Sox although I also used inspiration from the Geo Sports Socks which despite having two main colours had multiple colours to still swap and use the odd socks effect.
How do you feel knowing so many pair will now be made?
I feel very happy and excited but I also have a big sense of achievement, I am feeling quite confident even though as I’m not sure how many will sell but I’m hopeful that they will do well. (We are sure they will do great!)
Your socks will open many conversations about Multiple Sclerosis and donate to our three partner charities, how does that make you feel?
It makes me feel very happy that I am and will be spreading awareness about MS and donating to 3 whole charities it’s still just great that so many people will be finding out about MS this way, helping raise awareness.
How did you design the socks?
I designed them using a cool app called procreate it is great for drawing and art and you can be so creative with drawing anything it is has so many different tools and things to help you I just used it for the design but it proved very useful especially for changing the colours as it was very easy and simple.
