Founded in 2018 by husband & wife duo Lianne and James, the Monkey Sox team and community is growing day by day. Built by word of mouth, loyal friends, family and customers. Contact us if you're interested in working with us at events, creatively, or behind the scenes!
Previously a designer for some of the UK's best menswear brands after graduating from Central St Martins, now the proud creator of over 100 Monkey Sox designs. Same creativity different goals. Also found reconciling accounts, preparing for events and co-hosting our podcast but happiest with a pencil in hand and the next design in mind!
Favourite pair: Classic Mist Orange / Turquoise
Hobbies outside of sport: Forest school with my boys and messy baking.
Next goal for sport: My next marathon but where? Tokyo, Berlin, Edinburgh?!
Something people don't know about you: A bucket list dream is to get an age group marathon qualification time, even if i'm 70+!
Triathlete, NHS GP, Lifestyle Medic and University College of London Medical School graduate. James' career as a doctor and co-founder of Monkey Sox is balanced with an active & healthy lifestyle, helping manage his symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis. James never misses a brainstorming session. From the first vision of our Monkey Sox van to weekly topics for our podcast, he has inspired the way since the very start.
Favourite pair: Podium Bolt Blue + Yellow
Hobbies outside of sport: Making sourdough, badly!
Next goal for sport: Any triathlon, I'm hooked!
Something people don't know about you: I've done an Ironman Triathlon and never again (maybe never!) haha!
Avid runner with a masters in Marketing and years of experience in the event industry and running scene. Ethan found Monkey Sox in his first years of university and didn't look back. Hosting personal bests of 16.10 in the 5k & 33.20 in the 10k, he's put his fair share of miles into his socks!
Favourite pair: Podium Block: Cream & Teal (He worked hard for this colourway!!)
Hobbies outside of sport: Film photography & learning to play the guitar (any tips welcomed...)
Next goal for sport: Breaking 16 for the 5k and 75 minutes for the half marathon!
Something people don't know about you: I once ran 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours.
Catherine met Lianne in London at their first job in Menswear fashion over 20 years ago. 2 decades of experience later, they are back working together again, like the left and right hand that never separated. Lianne on design and Catherine on production. She's a pro at bringing ideas to life, building relationships with manufacturers and forecasting our next move.
Favourite pair: Classic Track: White Multi
Hobbies outside of sport: Growing fruit and vegetables with my family at our allotment.
Next goal for sport: I would love to do another marathon.
Something people don't know about you: I had only ever ran 10k when I got a place in the London marathon ballot!
Dave bought from the first ever batch of Monkey Sox, working from the same co-working space as Lianne. He knows the retail space inside & out and is on a mission to bring Monkey Sox to more local and International specialist sports retailers. Something people don't know about you: Also love watching and used to compete at BMX.
We met Jess at a social run when she stepped forward to say she loved what we were doing and could she help. Fast forward 2 years, she now leads our highly praised customer support. If Jess doesn't know the answer she'll find it! Jess is also working on some exciting projects to improve our sustainable practices including a very unique take back scheme.

Hobbies outside of sport: gardening badly, dreaming about having more dogs...
Next goal for sport: Being more bendy and doing the splits!

You may not see these people on an email sign off but without them, we would not be here today and wouldn't know what to do without them tomorrow.
Ever since we outgrow Lianne & James's spare room, Jordan, Dave (& now Jen!) have fulfilled every order, from gift wrapping with our classic orange tissue paper to saving us with last minute delivery requests, they have been with us every step and counting.
Our 4th generation Portugeuse factory has made EVERY pair of Monkey Sox in existence. No outsourcing, no shortcuts just incredible socks, from the first pair 7 years ago to our newest arrivals, we've been able to count on them to deliver every time.
Parents, siblings, housemates and customers we've met along the way, our events team is constantly growing! These heroes have turned up at short notice, set very early alarms, always served with a smile and tirelessly spread the word of Monkey Sox.
